FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI AKTIVITAS FISIK PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS: LITERATUR REVIEW

Diabetic patients are strongly encouraged to do regular physical activity. This is
because moderate-intensity physical exercise carried out regularly can prevent
and/or slow down metabolic disorders that occur in diabetes. However, the fact is
that many diabetic patients do not do regular physical activity. This study aimed to
collect articles and analyze what factors affected the physical activity of patients with
diabetes mellitus. The research design used was literature review. Articles were
searched using the PICOS method with the ProQuest, Google Scholar, and Science
Direct databases. The criteria for articles used were those published in the last 5
years. This literature review was synthesized using a narrative method by grouping
similar extracted data according to the measured results to answer the objectives.
Research articles that match the inclusion criteria were then collected. It then
continued making a summary of each article, including the name of the researcher,
year of publication, title, method, and research results as well as the database. The
results showed that there were 7 factors that could affect the physical activity of DM
patients including; 1) education and knowledge, 2) patient’s age and gender, 3)
patient’s occupation and occupation, 4) self-perception and efficacy, 5) family
support and support from health workers, 6) facilities and finance, and 7) social,
cultural environment, and security. The suggestion of this research was that there
was a need for research with more updated articles and the use of more article
databases.
