Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis which can be transmitted from one person to another through the air (airborne transmission), namely splashes of saliva, sneezing and coughing. Objective: To determine the difference in the amount of AFB before and after treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis with the microscopic method (ziehl-neelsen). The method used is a literature study using the google schoolar data base. Sampling used quota sampling and obtained 8 journals based on inclusion criteria. The journals were collected and a journal summary was made including the name of the researcher, the year of publication of the journal, the title of the study, the method, and a summary of the results. Results: The difference between BTA before and after treatment is very important to determine the success rate of TB treatment. Changes in BTA from positive before treatment to negative after the intensive phase of treatment indicate the BTA conversion rate which is one indicator to determine the success of TB control. Ziehl-Neelsen staining is a microscopic staining whose value is identical to the examination of sputum by culture. Conclusion : Changes in BTA from positive before treatment to negative after intensive phase treatment show the AFB conversion rate which is one indicator to determine the success of TB control. Suggestion: It is hoped that Tuberculosis patients will complete treatment for 6 months because it affects the number of bacteria in the patient's body.
