Work motivation is a force, an impulse that moves people to achieve certain goals. Locus of control is a factor that influences the work motivation of nurses. This study aims to determine the relationship between locus of control and work motivation of nurses. This research is a correlation study with a population of 50 people and a sample of 50 respondents. The data collection technique uses a locus of control questionnaire and a work motivation questionnaire, with the Spearman Rank test data analysis method with SPSS 25. This study proves as many as 18 respondents (36%) have high locus of control with high work motivation and 32 respondents (64%) have a high locus of control with moderate work motivation. In this study, the majority of respondents have moderate work motivation, this can happen if someone tends to have a higher external locus of control than internal locus of control. A high and balanced locus of control, both internal locus of control or external locus of control will be related to the attitude of a nurse in increasing work motivation, so that if someone has a good locus of control, the individual is able to control himself to become better personality. The results of the Spearman rank test showed that the value of p = (0.00) < (0.05) means that there is a significant relationship between locus of control and nurses' work motivation. In this study, the meaning of the correlation coefficient is moderate (0.576) and positive, namely the higher the locus of control, the higher the work motivation of nurses. For further research, it is hoped that there will be more specific research on internal locus of control, external locus of control and work motivation by using other research methods so that it can have an impact on the quality of service in hospitals.
