The implementation of online learning methods resulted in the presence of several problems. In addition to issues related to the availability of adequate facilities, the implementation of online learning methods is also possible to have an influence on the level of student understanding. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between online method learning and the level of understanding of special program students batch 2020 in the Nursing Science research methodology course at STIKES Maharani Malang. This research is a quantitative analytic study using a cross sectional approach. The sample of this study was 57 students who were determined by purposive sampling using the Slovin formula. The data collection technique used is an online survey using a research instrument in the form of an online questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is statistic descriptive and rank spearman analysis. The results of this study indicate that (1) online method learning is well implemented for students of the 2020 special nursing program at STIKES Maharani Malang. This is evidenced by the test results which show that most of the students answered that the online learning method was implemented well. (2) Students understand the subject matter of nursing research methodology at STIKES Maharani Malang. This is evidenced by the test results which show that most students claim to understand, namely a number of 35 students (61.4%). (3) There is no relationship between online learning methods and the level of understanding of special program students for the class of 2020 in the nursing science research methodology course at STIKES Maharani Malang. This is evidenced by the results of hypothesis testing which shows that the significance value is (0.305).
