Hospital arrangement is a place that has a high risk of Healthcare Associated Infection (HAIs). Nurses' compliance in carrying out hand washing is very influential on the incidence of HAIs. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between motivation and workload with the level of nurse compliance in carrying out hand washing at Irna 2 RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. This type of research uses a cross sectional study approach, with a correlation approach. The population in this study were all nurses at IRNA 2 RSUD Dr Saiful Anwar Malang, with a sample of 15 respondents. The results showed that there was a close relationship between motivation and the level of nurse compliance in washing hands by 62.3%, the relationship was significant (p=0.013). The close relationship between workload and the level of nurse compliance in washing hands was 44.7%, the relationship was not significant (p=0.095). It is hoped that there will be regular motivation, so that it can improve handwashing compliance during the pandemic and in the future. It is hoped that there will be an evaluation of the workload and efforts to increase the level of hand washing compliance.
