Early mobilization effective for healing process in post surgery of lower extremity. Implementation required self encouregement. Study aimed to determine relationship between motivation and early mobilization implementation in post surgery of lower extremity at IRNA II Bedah RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. Cross sectional analytic descriptive involving 41 respondents selected using a systematic sampling technique. Data were collected using motivation questionnaires and early mobilization observation sheets. Data analyzed using Spearman Rho test with = 0.05. 21 respondents (51.2%) had early motivation in moderate category and 20 respondents (48.8%) had early mobilization in sufficient & good category. Statistical test showed a significant relationship between motivation and early mobilization (p=0.035 or p<0.05). Significant correlation is closely related to psychological mechanisms, need for quick recovery encourages optimal early mobilization. Higher motivation get better implementation of early mobilization. Considering of motivational variables importance, suggested for nurses to increase educational exposure and gather family involvement for increasing early mobilization motivation.
