Documentation of nursing care plays an important role in all kinds of public demands that are increasingly critical and af ect public awareness of their rights from a health unit. Lack of professional nurse compliance in documenting correct and clear nursing care according to standards can have an impact on accountability in legal aspects, service quality and communication between health workers. This study aims to determine the relationship between the characteristics of nurses with the level of compliance in implementing nursing care documentation. This study is an observational study with a cross sectional approach, with a population of 74 people and a sample of 62 respondents. The data collection technique used a nursing care documentation questionnaire, with the chi-square test data analysis method and SPSS 21. This study proved that there were 35 respondents (56.5%) obedient to the documentation of nursing care and 27 respondents (43.5%) not complying. in the documentation of nursing care. The results of the chi-square test there is no relationship between age p-value = 0.268 (p> 0.05), gender p-value = 0.067 (p> 0.05), education p-value = 0.268 (p> 0.05 ) and working period p-value = 0.172 (p > 0.05) in applying nursing care documentation. The results of the chi-square test obtained a value (p> 0.05) which means that there is no relationship between the characteristics of nurses and the level of compliance in implementing documentation of nursing care. The suggestion of this research is that further research is needed on compliance in the application of nursing care documentation by adding other aspects that have not been studied in this study.
