GAMBARAN HASIL PEMERIKSAAN HIV PADA SERUM WARIA DAN GAY DENGAN METODE IMUNOKROMATOGRAFI RAPID TEST DI YAYASAN IGAMA KOTA MALANG

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a disease that occurs due to a decrease in the immune system. There are several causes or modes of transmission that occur so that a person can be infected with HIV, that is, can be through blood, sperm fluid, and vaginal fluids of HIV-infected people, and can be through breast milk of infected mothers, to breastfed babies. This study aims to identify the results of HIV testing on serum of transvestites and gays by using Rapid Test Immunocromatography at IGAMA Malang City. Type of descriptive research with research design accidental sampling. The number of samples in this study were 34 respondents, each consisting of 17Transvestite respondents and 17 Gay respondents. The results of this study using the Immunocromatography Rapid Test method showed that HIV testing in the transvestite group was found in 2 samples (12%) with positive results and 15 samples (88%) with negative results. In the Gay group there were 1 sample (6%) with positive results and 16 samples (94%) with negative results. The conclusions from this study indicate that most of the results were negative, but in the transvestite group there was a higher risk of HIV infection. In future studies can use methods that are more specific to HIV antibodies, for example by using the ELISA examination method.
