GAMBARAN HASIL PEMERIKSAAN JUMLAH LEUKOSIT PADA PASIEN TYPHOID DENGAN HEMATOLOGY ANALYZER

Typhoid is a systemic infection caused by Salmonella typhi bacteria and is a problem in the world, especially Indonesia. The number of typhoids in the world in 2018 there were 21 million cases with 128,000 to 161,000 deaths each year. The number of Indonesian typhoids in 2017 is estimated to be around 300-810 cases / 100,000 population per year. Salmonella typhi bacteria enter orally through contaminated food or drink and infect the digestive tract, intestines, intestinal lymph nodes, and spread to the bloodstream. Typhoid screening test uses the widal test and complete blood count to see the body's mechanism using a leukocyte count. The research objective was to determine the number of leukocytes using a hematology analyzer and to determine the level of leukocytes based on the results of the Widal test, the research method used a literature study. The widal test is determined using the agglutination method, while for the examination of the number of leucocytes using the automatic method, namely the Hematology Analyzer. Based on the literature study, it was found that the widal test results at the highest O titter with the results of 1: 160-1: 320 dilution as much as 43.3% and the highest H titter with the results of the dilution 1: 160-1: 320 as much as 56.7%. The number of leukopenia leukocytes is 50.0%. It can be concluded that in the description of the number of leukocytes in typhoid patients, leukopenia is often found, which is caused by bacteria secreting endotoxins that inhibit the formation of white blood cells. Suggestions for this research need follow-up or direct research with a laboratory descriptive research design.
