Kuswanto, Candra, 2020.Overview of Body Mass Index Against Uric Acid Levels Using Literature Studies. Ilmah's Writing. D3 Medical Laboratory Technology Study Program, STIKes MAHARANI. Advisors: (1) Dr. Ekowati Ratnaningtyas, S.Kep., M.Kes (2) Wiwik Agustina, S.Kep.,Ns,. M. Biomed

Uric acid is an acid in the form of needle crystals and is the result of the metabolism of purines (a form of nucleoprotein derivatives) which should not be more. Uric acid is actually an antioxidant and comes from humans and animals, but if in excessive amounts in the blood it will crystallize and can cause uric acid. There is a relationship between uric acid levels and an increase in body mass index (BMI). From time to time the number of gout sufferers tends to increase. Gout is found all over the world, in all human races. The prevalence of uric acid tends to enter a younger age, namely the productive age, which will have an impact on decreasing work productivity in knowing the body mass index of uric acid in students. Research with the literature study method and data collection procedures in this study are secondary data, which is data obtained not from direct observation but data obtained from the results of research that has been conducted by previous researchers from national and international journals originating from journal publications on Google Scolar and Google Scholar. Which contains a description of uric acid levels on BMI. Sampling is done at a place in accordance with the journal that has been determined. Conclusion Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that most students with body mass index (overweight and obese) have serum uric acid levels within normal limits. From 6 studies it was concluded that most of the samples who had a high body mass index (overweight and obese) had increased serum uric acid levels. From 1 study concluded there was no difference in uric acid levels in obese and non-obese students.
