Water is a source of disease transmission. Many waterborne diseases are caused by contamination by bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi. Tinea pedis is a disease caused by a dermatophyte fungal infection in the skin of the feet. Trichophyton rubrum attacks skin tissue and causes skin infections. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of Trychophyton rubrum fungus which causes tinea pedis in water. The research method is literature study using 8 journals. The population used in this study with a total population of 51,992 articles and a sample of 8 journals, namely 3 international journals and 5 national journals. Based on the results of literature studies from journals that have been analyzed, there are types of fungi, including Trichophyton rubrum and other fungi such as Aspergillus, Candida, Penicillium. Trychophyton rubrum fungus is often transmitted, namely through water, it can be concluded that the level of personal hygiene, and exposure to fungi are risk factors that cause tinea pedis. Suggestions to always keep the environment clean, and clean water frequently, besides informing the public.
