In pregnant women there can be body adaptation in the form of visible physiological changes to pregnancy. One thing that is common is that the plasma increases more than the volume of erythrocytes, and will cause hemodilution (dilution) and a decrease in hemoglobin and hematocrit which causes anemia. The prevalence in pregnant women who experience anemia is around 35-75%, and it increases with the growth of gestational age. In Indonesia, 38.2% (Hb <11g / dl), the prevalence of pregnant women experiencing anemia in rural areas is 37.9% and in urban areas it is 38.2%. The purpose of this study was to determine the picture of erythrocytes, reticulocytes, and hematocrit in pregnant women in the first and second trimesters. The method used in this research is literature study. Sampling using quota sampling and obtained 7 suitable journals based on inclusion criteria. The research journals are collected and a journal summary is made including the name of the researcher, the year the journal was published, the volume, the title of the research, the method and the summary of the results.Result:The number of reticulocytes in the blood in pregnant women has increased due to the increasing need for gestational age and the need for insufficient nutrients such as vitamin C and iron, which causes the process of iron absorption in the body to become unstable which can result in decreased hemoglobin and hematocrit levels in the blood. The suggestion of this research is that because of the increasing gestational age, the value of erythrocytes and hematocrit decreases. Meanwhile, the reticulocytes increase. It is hoped that pregnant women should carry out regular pregnancy checks in order to see the health condition of the mother and fetus in the womb, and be able to meet their nutritional needs by taking into account the factors of nutritional intake, diet and vitamins consumed.
Key words: erythrocytes, reticulocytes, hematocrit, pregnant women
