Used cooking oil is cooking oil that has been used repeatedly and has changed color and smell. This is caused by several factors including absorption of odor by fat, the presence of hydrolysis and oxidation processes and due to microbial activity. The research objective was to obtain bacterial isolates that were able to degrade used cooking oil. This type of descriptive experimental research, with research methods include 1). Isolation of used cooking oil microbes, making pure culture and microscopic observation. 2). Characterization and biochemical tests were carried out by Gram stain examination. 3). Enzymatic test for amylase, protease, cellulolytic and triglycerides. The results proved that the identification of used cooking oil bacteria was found in the species Bacillus sp. The bacteria that can decompose the protease is the W3 sample, while in the amylase, cellulolytic and triglyceride test the bacteria are not able to degrade with the duration of 5 days of use after not being used. Suggestions for this research are sellers / the public not to use cooking oil repeatedly / more than 3 times and further research so that they can identify bacteria molecularly to find out the species of the genus Bacillus.
