Tuberculosis or TB is a contagious infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which can attack all organs, especially the lungs. Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR) is a non-treponemal agglutination test to detect the presence of regains in a patient's blood. This study aims to determine the results of the Rapid Plasma Reagin examination in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis through a literature study. The method used in this research is Rapid Plasma Reagin. A population of 829 journals were found through the NCBI database and google scholar using the key sentence for the Rapid Plasma Reagin examination in tuberculosis patients. The sample used was the serum of tuberculosis patients, which were concluded from 6 journals. The sampling technique uses quota sampling. The results of the examination were obtained from 6 journals which used reactive RPR in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. This occurs because of the presence of non-specific antibody bonds (reagin) in the serum of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis with (artificial) cardiolipin antigens. Patients with tuberculosis are predicted to have non-specific antibodies (reagin) in their serum. This is because the immune response generated is a type IV hypersensitivity reaction (slow). Suggestions, this research needs to be refined to establish a diagnosis in patients, it is necessary to carry out more specific confirmatory examinations to reduce the possibility of a biological false positive result.
