Smoking habit is a factor in increasing blood cholesterol levels. Cigarettes are very dangerous to health because in one cigarette smoked releases about 4,000 toxic chemicals including nicotine, tar and carbon monoxide. Many people claim to understand the bad effects of smoking on health, but they don't know cigarette smoke can increase LDL levels in the body. The chemicals contained in cigarettes can increase levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and reduce good cholesterol (HDL) in the human body. Research objective was to determine cholesterol levels (HDL, LDL, triglycerides) smokers Eastern Community Malang City. Population of study 37 smokers with sample of 21 smokers using total sampling. Data collection used lipid strips. Analysis results showed 13 respondents (61.9%) abnormal HDL, 15 respondents (71.4%) normal LDL, 14 respondents (66.7%) Triglycerides. Conclusion results of study number respondents cholesterol levels different results, this is obtained because each type of cholesterol has a work function and its own properties, cigarette content affects the value of cholesterol levels (HDL, LDL, triglycerides) increases, from 21 respondents researched that there were some respondents normal and abnormal cholesterol levels (HDL, LDL, triglycerides). Research can be used reference for further research, regarding description of non-smoking cholesterol levels (HDL, LDL, TG).
