Nicotine is one of the substances contained in cigarettes and is a very toxic chemical. these substances can be addictive, especially to cigarettes. This study aims to determine the value of nicotine levels in the blood of active smokers. In this study the data used is secondary data which is data obtained not from direct observation, namely using literature studies, the data is obtained from research results, which have been carried out by previous researchers from texbooks, journals and scientific articles that contain a description of the value. Nicotine levels in the blood of active smokers with a population of journals, namely 2 national journals and 3 international journals that were collected based on keywords according to the inclusion criteria. The results showed that the value of nicotine levels in the blood of active smokers using the literature study method was still relatively low with a value of 4.778 mg / ml, 3.59 mg / ml. The value of nicotine levels in a person's blood varies depending on the number of cigarettes smoked / day and the length of time smoking and the use of e-cigarettes. Based on the results of several previous studies that the value of nicotine levels in a person's blood depends on the number of cigarettes smoked per day, length of smoking, and type of cigarette. And some studies say the nicotine content in the blood of e-smokers is greater than that of flammable cigarettes. The findings of previous journals show that the value of nicotine in the blood of active smokers is still low, with a value of 4.778 mg / ml, 3.59 mg / ml.
