Pregnancy is defined as the fertilization or fusion of spermatozoa and ovum and is followed by bullying or implantation.In early pregnancy, the metabolic processes of pregnant women are altered by an increase in serum levels of estrogen and progesterone, pancreatic beta cell hyperplasia occurs and there is an increase in insulin secretion. Hyperinsulinemia is a condition that causes increased tissue storage of glycogen, increasing fat storage. Triglycerides are one of the fats in the body that are found in the blood and various organs of the body. High levels of triglycerides in the blood can increase the risk of placental blood vessel disorders, leading to endothelial dysfunction, atherosclerosis and thrombosis in preeclamptic women.The objectives in this study are To determine the description of triglyceride levels in pregnant women (complications) in the first trimester using the Spectrophotometric method (GPO-PAP). This type of research is descriptive. The population in this study were 1 national journal and 3 international journals related to triglyceride levels in pregnant women. Based on the research results summarized from various literature studies, namely the description of triglyceride levels in pregnant women (complications) in the first trimester using the spectrophotometric method (gpo-pap), it can be concluded that in pregnant women (complications) in the first trimester, the results have increased triglyceride levels.
