GAMBARAN HASIL PEMERIKSAAN TIFOID MENGGUNAKAN WIDAL DAN IMBI (TUBEX TF)

Typhoid fever is an acute systemic infectious disease caused by Salmonella typhi. Supporting examinations that are often used are Widal and IMBI (Tubex Tf), Widal's advantages are the diagnostic test is relatively cheap, fast, easy to do. Disadvantages Widal results are less accurate (lots of false negatives and false positives), low sensitivity and specificity. The advantages of IMBI (Tubex Tf) can detect acute Salmonella typhi infection early, it takes a little blood sample, the results are obtained quickly. Lacking IMBI (Tubex Tf) results can be compromised with highly hemolytic or icteric specimens and it is difficult to interpret the results within positive limits. The research objective was to describe the results of typhoid examination using Widal and IMBI (Tubex Tf). The method used is literature study using the Google Scholar database, academic search complete, medine with full text, Proquest and Pubmed. Quota sampling, obtained 8 suitable journals based on inclusion criteria, then collected and a summary was made including the name of the researcher, the year of publication of the journal, the title of the study, the method and the summary of the results. Results 5 out of 8 journals stated that IMBI (Tubex TF) was better than Widal. Conclusion, IMBI (Tubex TF) uses Salmonella typhi anti-O9 antigen which can distinguish these organisms from> 99% of other Salmonella serotypes so that the IMBI (Tubex TF) examination is more specific.
