Breast cancer has a broad impact on psychological aspects such as anxiety. Uncontrolled anxiety will lead to failure of planned therapy. This study aims to
determine the relationship between family support and anxiety in stage III breast cancer patients in the Kerinci Room, RSUD dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. The
variables measured in this study were family support and anxiety. The way of taking the sample is using a purposive sampling technique, namely selecting
prospective respondents with inclusion and exclusion criteria. In this study, the researcher used an observational analytical research design with a cross
sectional approach with a sample of 41 respondents. The measuring instrument used is a questionnaire that is measured using the Sarason Social Support
Questionnaire for family support, while the anxiety questionnaire uses STAI. Most of them, namely 22 respondents (53.7%) still received low support from their families, the average value of respondents' anxiety was 80.78 with the smallest anxiety value 51 and the highest anxiety score being 110. The data analysis test used Spearman Rho. The results also show that there is a relationship between family support and patient anxiety with a p-value of 0.04 (p < 0.05) with weak correlation ( r = - 0,316). Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that nurses in the treatment room improve the quality of service and always carry out early detection of patients who are felt to have psychosocial problems, as well as increase family involvement in the implementation of therapy.
