Hubungan Lama Pemakaian KB Suntik DMPA Dengan Siklus Menstruasi Pada Akseptor Kb Di Pmb Anugerah Kabupaten Malang

The use of injectable birth control, specifically Depo Medroxyprogesterone Acetate (DMPA), is popular due to its economic nature and flexibility in duration of use. However, it often leads to changes in the menstrual cycle. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the length of DMPA use and the menstrual cycle at PMB Anugerah Malang Regency. The research design used correlation analysis with a cross-sectional approach. The total population of 47 participants was sampled using total sampling based on inclusion criteria. Data was collected from documentation studies and interviews. The results showed that for those who used DMPA for 3- 12 months, a majority experienced a normal menstrual cycle (14.9%) while others experienced polimenorrhea
(2.1%), oligomenorrhea (2.1%), and amenorrhea (6.4%). On the other hand, among those who used DMPA for more than 12 months, the majority experienced amenorrhea (55.3%) followed by polimenorrhea (4.3%), normal cycle (6.4%), and oligomenorrhea (8.5%). A statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between the length of DMPA use and changes in the menstrual cycle.
